The LatestLast ShowSunday, October 05, 2003Tonight The Lucretia Jones Mysteries closed, and I am so tired I just about can't move. After the show we went downtown with some friends and watched Melissa Levine perform, just to get a sense of what some other artists are doing here in the city. She was breath-taking, awe-inspiring... a testament to what you can do in the theater. Hopefully, we will maintain the relationship with John Hurley. The show has been an unmitigated success, in almost every way we can look at it. We re-couped our losses, we were more than well-received, and all of the legitimate industry people were bubbling over. Several people are interested in taking the show to another space. Lindsay Bowen, God bless him, has offered his space to help videotape the show for possible touring, and we got Theatersource and UCB interested in taking a look. We haven't really pursued anything, so we're hopeful. It's always really sad to close a show, and this one is sad because it was so rewarding and so dear to us. We're producers, actors, PR men, the works, and we hit exactly what we aimed for, for the first time in our history. It will be hard to let it go, but that's sort of how theater works. More on the recovery process in the next and last blog.
